Aloe Vera is famous for its skin soothing and healing properties. It offers a variety of benefits to skin, including hydration, anti-inflammatory benefits and creating a protective barrier on the skin, preventing moisture loss. Studies have also shown that Aloe Vera has antimicrobial and antioxidant properties, something really important when dealing with the damaged skin of eczema sufferers. Aloe Vera is known to be particularly effective in treating other skin conditions, including psoriasis, skin burns, minor wounds, and skin rashes.
Direct application of pure Aloe Vera gel can cause minor irritation as it dries on the skin, leaving a slightly tacky feel that can irritate sensitive skin. For this reason, we would always recommend using a moisturiser that combines natural oils, water, AND aloe to help the aloe absorb into skin and work it’s magic.
Naturally Happy Skin use Organic Aloe Leaf Extract in our Sensitive Skin Hand & Body Cream to tooth and restore damaged and irritable skin. It’s exceptionally good stuff!
